So when I decided to write this little blog, I forgot how awful I am at actually blogging. Im trying to get better though, bare with me. Well I got a job and as soon as I did I remembered how much I really hated retail...oh well its just for a little while longer and then I will be moving on to bigger and better things.
Last thursday, Chels and her fam invited me to the Texas State Fair. You can imaging my excitement since I had never been before and I have heard of all the many varieties of fried food available( fried butter...really???) I didn't try any of these delectables but I can only imaging how many people did. The fair is pretty fun. We watched a dog and bird show. Went to the petting zoo and saw soo many cute animals including a baby giraffe and a kangaroo with its joey (sp?). Pics will be up when I get around to it...hopefully soon. Chels and I being the basketball players we are noticed that there was a free throw contest going on sponsering the NBA All-Star game that is going to be held in Dallas in 2010. We got in line and 52 games later had won two tickets to the NBA All- Star celebrity game and the whole jam session plus a t-shirt and a water bottle. Not to shabby for not having even shot a basketball since last year.
The next day I started having this weird dry cough thing going on with my throat. You know the thing when you don't have any thing to cough up but your throat still itches...ya that. Well, the next day when grandma got home from her 3 week cruise, Chels mom came over and informed me that David (Chels dad) had swine flu. Since we had been all sharing food at the fair, I started getting a little concerned. The next day my cough got worse so I went to carenow to get it checked out. Guess what....Amanda has swine flu :( ... Not a fun experience, however, I don't think I had it as bad as people usually do. I am VERY grateful for that!! I am almost over it now..just a little bit of a cough left and I am so tired of watching tv and lying in bed.
